Financial Director

About the role

A leading insurance organisation is seeking a commercially astute Financial Director to join its executive leadership team in Edenvale. This strategic position requires a qualified CA(SA) with deep experience in motor‑related insurance products, responsible for steering the entire finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance function, aligning financial strategy with business objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial planning.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Ensure statutory reporting, tax compliance and adherence to insurance regulations.
• Lead audit processes and maintain strong relationships with external auditors.
• Implement robust financial controls, governance frameworks and risk‑management practices.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team and board.
• Mentor and develop the finance team while partnering with operational leaders on growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of post‑articles financial management experience.
• Proven experience as a Financial Director, Head of Finance or senior finance leader.
• Extensive background in the insurance sector, preferably motor insurance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, compliance and corporate governance.
• Demonstrated ability in strategic financial planning and business partnering.
