Financial Controller (Remote, US Hours)

About the role

We are looking for a highly capable Financial Controller to own and oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations for a growing organization with multiple entities. The role is both hands‑on and strategic, requiring accurate record‑keeping while continuously improving processes, controls, and reporting quality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting across several entities in Sage Intacct with minimal supervision.
• Process and review expense data from Fyle, ensuring proper coding and integration.
• Maintain general ledger integrity, including journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and intercompany activity.
• Lead monthly close activities, perform reconciliations, variance analysis, and prepare financial statements.
• Produce recurring reports such as liquidity summaries, NAV, and ad‑hoc analyses for leadership.
• Document and refine accounting processes, controls, and reporting frameworks to support scale and audit readiness.
• Support system optimization and future enhancements beyond Sage Intacct.
• Collaborate with U.S.–based executives, communicating status, risks, and recommendations.
• Assist with audits, internal reviews, and special financial projects as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 8+ years of accounting experience with progression toward controller‑level responsibility.
• Strong command of U.S. GAAP and full‑cycle accounting across multiple entities.
• Proven ability to work independently, identify gaps, and proactively solve problems.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Required skills

• Sage Intacct (hands‑on experience).
• Fyle or similar expense management platform.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, data validation, reconciliations).
