Financial Controller (Remote, Full‑time)

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance while supporting strategic decision‑making. This full‑time remote position works on a US schedule (3 pm‑11 pm CAT) and reports directly to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning processes.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger functions.
• Ensure compliance with tax, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor financial controls and implement process improvements.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights and recommendations to management.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, banks and other stakeholders.
• Mentor and manage members of the finance team.
• Maintain accurate reconciliation of accounts and financial records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• Proven experience in financial management, accounting or financial control roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software.
