Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will support the finance and administration function of a fast‑paced manufacturing operation, ensuring accurate month‑end reporting, strong financial controls and efficient day‑to‑day finance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts and month‑end journals.
• Ensure timely collection of debtor balances.
• Maintain stock‑take accuracy and investigate variances, including obsolete stock.
• Maintain accounting records and the general ledger.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns (VAT 201) and process stock adjustments.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate risk.
• Supervise finance staff and meet reporting deadlines.
• Complete accounting functions up to the balance sheet.
• Manage tax clearance and SARS eFiling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or CIMA qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting and analysis.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive with good time‑management, organisational and prioritising skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask and collaborate as a team player.
• Knowledge of export processes.
