Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic support. This full‑time remote position reports to senior management and works closely with the finance team and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning processes.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger functions.
• Ensure compliance with tax, statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor financial controls and drive process improvements.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights and recommendations to management.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, banks and other stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop finance team members.
• Maintain accurate reconciliations and financial records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• Proven experience in financial management, accounting or financial control roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and leadership abilities.
