Financial Controller

About the role

Willow Processing is looking for a proactive Financial Controller based in Johannesburg to manage global financial operations and ensure regulatory compliance. The role works full‑time during US business hours, requiring real‑time collaboration with the US leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee full‑cycle accounting, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes and deliver comprehensive financial packages.
• Partner with operations leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Coordinate international compliance with US tax professionals and maintain robust internal controls.
• Implement data verification processes to audit transaction volumes and ensure accuracy.
• Prepare executive dashboards and regular performance reports highlighting cost‑saving opportunities.
• Maintain and optimise financial data within cloud‑based ERP platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Rippling.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Proven experience working in an offshore environment supporting US‑based entities.
• Demonstrated ability to work afternoon/night shifts to align with US business hours.
• Strong analytical attention to detail and excellent verbal and written English communication.
