Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will support the annual budgeting process, monitor financial performance, and ensure compliance with internal policies and IFRS. This role is central to producing accurate management accounts and providing insight to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting and quarterly updates, monitoring variances and providing explanations.
• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and board meeting packs.
• Produce ad‑hoc management information reports as required.
• Verify transactions for compliance with CNBC Africa policies, IFRS, and US GAAP.
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash‑book functions and daily cash‑flow management.
• Review month‑end reconciliations, maintain the fixed‑asset register, and manage VAT returns.
• Assist with B‑BBEE compliance, year‑end audit preparation and any additional audit requests.
• Identify and promote process improvements across finance functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance/control functions.
• Proficiency with current financial software.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and US GAAP.
