Financial Controller – Fixed Term (12 months)

About the role

Sanlam Group Technology is seeking a Financial Controller on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. You will be responsible for accurate financial recording, analysis and reporting within the technology division, supporting both operational and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Compute, classify, record and verify numerical data for accounting purposes.
• Compile and sort invoices, checks and other supporting documents.
• Post business transactions, reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable/receivable.
• Prepare vouchers, invoices, account statements and financial reports, ensuring accuracy.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting for assigned clusters.
• Develop transparency of IT cost drivers and build recovery models.
• Manage client relationships, provisions and debtor controls.
• Translate financial information for non‑financial IT stakeholders and identify corrective actions.
• Perform month‑end, half‑year and year‑end closing activities.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification; Honours degree or CTACA (SA) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience in IT and/or financial services.
• Strong financial knowledge with client exposure.
• Proficiency in Excel and ability to work with financial data processing systems.
• Understanding of SOPs, SLAs and transaction authorisation mandates.
