Financial Analyst – FP&A

About the role

Lesaka, a leading South African fintech expanding across Africa, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its FP&A team. Reporting to the Head of FP&A – Community and working closely with the Executive Head of International, you will support forecasting, modelling and strategic decision‑making for the company’s growing international portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Support monthly forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting for the international portfolio.
• Partner with business leaders on commercial decisions, business cases and investment analysis for new and existing regions.
• Build and maintain financial models for strategic planning, scenario analysis and business cases.
• Assist in establishing reporting, budgeting and forecasting frameworks for new African markets.
• Prepare board and ExCo reporting packs, including financial commentary, KPI and risk analysis.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting support across ADP, Card, Hospitality and other portfolios.
• Develop management dashboards and ad‑hoc reports to monitor performance and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support month‑end financial reporting and ensure data integrity across FP&A processes.
• Act as a trusted finance business partner to operational and commercial stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Statistics or a related field (CA(SA) advantageous).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, commercial finance, business analytics, strategy or consulting.
• Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and problem‑solving capability.
• Excellent written communication skills for board and investor reporting.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Experience designing reports and dashboards in Power BI or a similar platform.
• Financial modelling and forecasting expertise.
• Familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools.
