Financial Adviser – Pietermaritzburg

About the role

The Financial Adviser will provide new and existing clients with professional financial advice, planning and product solutions that meet their needs. The role focuses on building long‑term relationships, generating sustainable business and supporting the growth of the Sanlam brand in the Pietermaritzburg market.

Key responsibilities

• Provide compliant, client‑focused financial consultations, conduct fact‑finding and deliver personalised financial plans.
• Generate new business through networking, prospecting, social media marketing and referrals, while nurturing existing client relationships.
• Achieve revenue targets, activity quotas and brand promotion goals in line with the distribution strategy.
• Maintain accurate client records, monitor portfolio changes and report weekly/monthly on contacts, appointments and business issued.
• Deliver ethical, courteous service and continuously update knowledge of market and regulatory developments.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
• Successful completion of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) “Fit and Proper” requirements and regulatory examination.
• Registration with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) for at least 24 months.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and persuasive abilities.
