Financial Administrator / Bookkeeper – Card Acquiring (Contract)

About the role

Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented Financial Administrator / Bookkeeper to support the Finance and Card Acquiring function. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial administration, reconciliations, transaction processing, reporting, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of card‑acquiring related financial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day financial administration and bookkeeping activities.
• Process and maintain accurate financial transactions and records.
• Execute daily and monthly bank, card and transaction reconciliations.
• Reconcile card‑acquiring transactions, settlements, fees, refunds and chargebacks.
• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and unmatched transactions.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
• Prepare financial reports, reconciliations and management information.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Card Acquiring and Merchant Services teams.
• Identify process gaps and contribute to improving reconciliation procedures.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in finance, bookkeeping or financial administration.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Highly analytical, detail‑oriented and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong problem‑solving and investigative abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookups, data analysis).
• Experience with ERP/financial systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Knowledge of Visa and Mastercard transaction processes.
• Familiarity with EFT, POS and ATM card transaction handling.
• Ability to manage high‑volume financial transaction datasets.
