About the role

Our client, a specialist reinsurance services provider operating globally, is looking for experienced Financial Accountants to join its South Africa team. Based in Pretoria East, the role combines on‑site collaboration (2‑3 days a week) with remote work, supporting a portfolio of reinsurance clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial and regulatory reports for a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely delivery.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements in line with applicable standards.
• Complete regulatory filings accurately and on schedule.
• Execute internal control procedures and document evidence in compliance software.
• Support review of financial reporting packages for completeness and adherence to accounting standards.
• Review and update insurance documentation.
• Contribute to the development and optimisation of internal finance processes for the South Africa operation.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations.
• Prepare and coordinate Board of Directors meeting materials, including board packs and financial presentations.
• Liaise with third‑party service providers and communicate regularly with the finance team.
