Financial Accountant – Mining & Resources

About the role

Join a leading mining organisation as a Financial Accountant, contributing to high‑performing finance teams and gaining exposure to complex financial reporting, statutory compliance and taxation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and all statutory reporting requirements.
• Manage tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE and mining tax computations and returns.
• Liaise with SARS, auditors, banks, insurers and tax specialists.
• Support internal and external audit processes and uphold company tax policies.
• Analyse financial information to provide actionable business insights.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and a BCom in Accounting (or BCom Honours Accounting).
• CTA qualification and CA(SA) qualification (essential).
• Minimum 5 years of financial accounting experience, preferably within the mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and extensive South African tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, Mining Tax).
• Experience in operational and group‑level financial reporting.
