Financial Accountant – Manufacturing

About the role

Our client is a leading manufacturer, importer and supplier of packaging machinery for the food and beverage industry. They are seeking a senior Financial Accountant to manage the full accounting function for both local and foreign subsidiaries from their Paarl office.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the complete balance‑sheet function, including the Fixed Asset Register, for all subsidiaries.
• Prepare and monitor monthly management accounts for each subsidiary.
• Assist in the compilation of the group’s annual budget and support the Financial Manager on other financial projects.
• Collect, analyse and present data to aid budgeting, investment and cost‑decision making.
• Handle South African Reserve Bank applications, exchange‑control queries and foreign creditor reconciliations.
• Support year‑end audit, statutory accounts, VAT returns, provisional and annual income‑tax filings, and ensure compliance with the Companies Act.
• Provide fleet‑management financial oversight as required.

Required profile

• BCom degree or equivalent qualification.
• 10 + years of balance‑sheet accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong financial and costing background with extensive multi‑currency transaction experience.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and commute daily to Paarl (within a 50 km radius).

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Super‑user level experience with an ERP system such as Q Muzik or a comparable platform.

What we offer

• Competitive total cash compensation ranging from R590 000 to R618 000 per annum, inclusive of a 13th‑month cheque.
