Financial Accountant

About the role

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Financial Accountant based in Kempton Park, South Africa. You'll play a key role in maintaining robust financial controls, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting audit and compliance activities, and driving continuous improvement across our Africa region finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations, including prepayments, accruals, and payroll‑related accounts, ensuring reconciling items are identified and resolved promptly.
• Review trial balances across South Africa and the Africa region, investigating and resolving discrepancies to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Partner with BPO providers to ensure timely and accurate statutory and financial reporting requirements are met.
• Support internal and external audits through the preparation of reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation, while driving closure of audit, compliance, and control actions.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls, reporting processes, balance‑sheet governance, and Power BI reporting capabilities across the region.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• An experienced Financial Accountant with strong knowledge of month‑end close processes, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Highly analytical, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using Power BI for reporting and data analysis.
• Comfortable working with large volumes of financial data and collaborating with BPO, audit, compliance, and operational stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
