Financial Accountant

About the role

The group managing a premium wine portfolio in Stellenbosch seeks a Financial Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will ensure accurate accounting, statutory compliance and support for audit and BEE reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform bank reconciliations and month‑end journal processing.
• Calculate sales commissions and maintain the fixed‑asset register with depreciation.
• Prepare statutory and tax submissions, ensuring timely reporting to SARS.
• Conduct accurate stock takes, monitor inter‑location transfers and resolve system discrepancies.
• Capture forex details for review and support finance team administration.
• Assist with BEE data, audit preparation, bank communications and integration projects.
• Process wages accurately and provide ad‑hoc support to the finance manager.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Completed SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles; professional qualification preferred.
• Minimum three years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in the wine, agriculture or FMCG sector is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as Business Central, Navision or Oracle.
