Finance Internship – Revenue Recognition & Contract Reconciliation

About the role

This 12‑month paid internship offers a rare opportunity to learn revenue recognition and contract reconciliation in a subscription‑based business. You will work side‑by‑side with the Operations Accountant, receiving structured guidance and review at every stage.

Key responsibilities

• Support the reconciliation of customer contracts across the contract register, Salesforce, Sage Intacct and renewal spreadsheets.
• Investigate variances between contracted, billed and recognised amounts and document findings.
• Assist with monthly deferred and accrued revenue schedules and gradually prepare draft revenue recognition journals.
• Prepare supporting schedules and analysis for monthly revenue reporting.
• Maintain a clean audit trail by filing and organising supporting documentation.
• Gain exposure to invoicing, accounts payable processing, supplier statement reconciliation and month‑end supplier orders.
• Develop hands‑on experience with Sage Intacct, Salesforce and advanced Excel.

Required profile

• Completed or in‑progress qualification in accounting, finance or a related field (degree, diploma or study towards SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA or AC…).
• Eagerness to learn revenue processes from the ground up.
