Finance Executive - Value Added Meats Category

About the role

The Value-Added Meats Category, part of the Libstar Perishables Products Category, is looking for a Finance Executive based in Johannesburg, reporting to the Managing Executive. The role leads the full financial and IT functions of the business, ensuring strong financial control, accurate reporting and financial performance aligned to EBIT, RONA and cash flow objectives. It also drives disciplined capital allocation, profitability and working capital performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial input into business strategy, long-term planning and integrated planning.
• Drive capital allocation, evaluate capital expenditure, investment opportunities and payback models.
• Deliver against EBIT, RONA and ROIC targets through profitability, costing and margin analysis.
• Optimise cash generation and net working capital across inventory, debtors and creditors.
• Maintain financial control and oversee statutory, tax, regulatory, internal and external audit requirements.
• Provide accurate, timely reporting, dashboards and insights to EXCO and operational leadership.
• Lead Finance and IT teams, strengthen accountability, business partnering and continuous improvement.
• Oversee ERP, reporting platforms, systems security, access controls, data integrity, automation and digitisation.
• Identify and mitigate financial, operational and systems risks via a formal risk register.
• Support food safety, quality, GMP and company compliance through sound governance.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant or a related field.
• 8 years as a Finance Executive, 3-5 years leading IT, 3-5 years in FMCG manufacturing, and 5-8 years leading a team.
• Experience in financial planning, capital allocation, profitability improvement, cash flow and working capital management.
• Knowledge of governance, controls, audit, statutory compliance and enterprise risk management.
• Experience overseeing ERP and business systems, including data integrity and cybersecurity.
• Valid driver's licence, own transport and willingness to travel as required.
