Finance Controller – South Africa

About the role

The Finance Controller will ensure accurate margin analysis, reliable reporting and robust financial controls for our South African operations. You will partner with business units to drive efficiency, support budgeting and capex processes, and guarantee compliance with statutory and group requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse margins and produce monthly business margin reports, ensuring correct inventory valuation and segmentation performance.
• Prepare monthly customer and site profitability reports and review price updates and discounts for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Maintain daily controls, weekly volume flash, and bi‑weekly flash reports; deliver full P&L, line‑of‑business and FX reviews.
• Review fixed costs, ensure spending aligns with budgets, and explain exceptional items.
• Develop three‑month rolling cash‑flow forecasts in collaboration with treasury.
• Lead the annual P&L budgeting, strategic planning and capex budgeting processes, ensuring adherence to procurement procedures and timely reporting.
• Perform business case analyses (DCF, IRR, etc.) and support tax reporting compliance.
• Provide ad‑hoc analysis, control issue recommendations and support internal and statutory audits.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance controlling, margin analysis and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting and capex management.
• Knowledge of tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
• Ability to produce clear, data‑driven explanations of P&L elements and drive actionable improvements.
