Field Sales Executive (Business Development)

About the role

The Field Sales Executive (Business Development) will be responsible for growing DP World’s revenue and trading base in the Johannesburg region. The role focuses on executing field sales plans, acquiring new customers, retaining existing accounts, and delivering measurable sales results in line with the company’s commercial strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing customers and sales partners.
• Coordinate with operations, offices, partners and affiliates to expand the freight and forwarding business in Southern Africa.
• Identify prospective customers, assess their needs and match them with DP World’s products and services.
• Lead sales presentations, prepare bids, follow up on quotes and close business.
• Achieve weekly sales call targets (minimum 8 customer engagements) and log activities in the MDS system.
• Analyse sales opportunities, produce monthly reports and communicate market trends to management.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date client records, including contact details and job titles.

Required profile

• Proven experience in field sales or business development, preferably within logistics or transport.
• Strong customer relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across internal functions and external partners.
• Analytical mindset with experience in reporting and data‑driven decision making.
• Target‑oriented and able to meet defined sales and revenue goals.
