F&I Department Manager

About the role

Lead the Finance & Insurance (F&I) division for a premier automotive and commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Isando, Johannesburg. You will be responsible for credit scoring, cross‑border portfolio management, debtor governance and asset risk across Southern Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end credit scoring processes and perform deep‑dive financial analysis to evaluate creditworthiness.
• Manage the health of the commercial asset portfolio and ensure robust asset governance.
• Direct complex cross‑border trade transactions, finance structures and compliance requirements within the region.
• Ensure all financing, credit and insurance operations comply with industry regulations and internal risk policies.
• Partner with internal commercial teams, external banking institutions and key corporate clients while mentoring and developing the F&I team.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration (non‑negotiable).
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in F&I, credit management or commercial asset finance, preferably within the automotive or commercial vehicle sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in cross‑border vehicle financing, trade compliance and credit scoring systems.
• Strong leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities, with the confidence to operate under pressure.
