Farm & Vineyards Manager (Stellenbosch)

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and hands‑on Farm & Vineyards Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of two established wine estates in Stellenbosch. The role manages all vineyard and farm activities throughout the seasonal production cycle, ensuring optimal grape quality, sustainable farming practices, and efficient operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day vineyard operations including planting, pruning, irrigation, fertilisation, pest control, canopy management and harvesting.
• Develop and implement seasonal and annual vineyard management plans aligned with production objectives.
• Manage soil health programmes, water‑conservation and integrated pest‑management to ensure sustainability and compliance.
• Lead, coach and manage vineyard and farm teams, plan staff schedules and conduct performance management.
• Supervise maintenance of farm and vineyard equipment, coordinate property repairs and manage maintenance budgets.
• Maintain accurate operational records, prepare performance reports and monitor budgets and expenditures.
• Collaborate with winemaking, production and management teams and support estate events and stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing an operational vineyard and farm environment.
• Proven leadership experience managing vineyard and farm teams.
• Grade 12 (Matric) and a qualification in Viticulture, Oenology, Winemaking, Agriculture or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of vineyard operations, grape production and seasonal planning.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans with a valid driver’s licence.
