Facilities Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The President Hotel is seeking a hands‑on Facilities Technician to keep its 349‑room property operating safely, efficiently and comfortably. You will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, kitchens and conference facilities, ensuring all equipment meets the high standards expected by our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day maintenance, repairs and fault‑finding across the hotel’s facilities.
• Inspect, service and repair HVAC, air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Address plumbing leaks, drainage issues and related repairs.
• Carry out electrical maintenance within your authorised scope.
• Complete planned and preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns.
• Respond promptly to urgent breakdowns and emergency call‑outs.
• Document work in the CMMS (OMNI) and maintain accurate job cards.

Required profile

• Recognised Red Seal Trade Test certification (essential).
• 2–4 years of facilities or building maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or commercial property.
• Hands‑on experience with HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Ability to read technical diagrams, manuals and equipment specifications.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.

Required skills

• HVAC and air‑conditioning fault‑finding and maintenance.
• Commercial refrigeration equipment servicing (cold rooms, chillers, freezers, ice machines).
• Plumbing installation and repair (piping, taps, toilets, drainage).
• Electrical troubleshooting within authorised scope.
• General building maintenance, carpentry and fixture repair.
• Use of CMMS (e.g., OMNI) for work orders and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.
