Facilities Manager

About the role

The Focus Group is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the day‑to‑day hard and soft services across its Western Cape shopping centres. You will ensure that all building systems, infrastructure and service delivery meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement facilities management strategies, policies, standards and procedures for assigned malls.
• Oversee hard and soft services operations, including housekeeping, security, landscaping and public areas.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits and risk‑management reviews of assets, plant, equipment and safety systems.
• Manage building management systems (BMS) in line with operational standards and SLA agreements.
• Support occupational health and safety programmes, emergency preparedness and business continuity protocols.
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act, B‑BBEE initiatives, third‑party compliance and other applicable legislation.
• Coordinate vendor selection, service level agreements and monthly provider meetings.
• Monitor CAPEX spend for Western Cape malls and document remedial actions and compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities management, preferably within retail or shopping‑centre environments.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and risk‑management practices.
• Ability to manage multiple sites, coordinate vendors and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
• Experience with building management systems and CAPEX budgeting.
