External Sales Representative – Valves & Pumps

About the role

Jag Site Support, a national leader in valve sales, repair and maintenance, is seeking an External Sales Representative to drive new business and grow existing accounts within key industrial and government sectors. The role focuses on selling sophisticated valve and pump solutions to foremen, maintenance managers, engineers, procurement officers and project houses.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and contact potential customers, generate and negotiate new business to meet annual revenue targets.
• Conduct product demonstrations and present solutions in face‑to‑face meetings, calls and emails.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing key accounts, attending trade shows and following industry trends.
• Ensure appropriate stock levels and stay informed on new products and market conditions.
• Travel extensively across South Africa, spending roughly 75% of time out of the office.
• Negotiate sales contracts, prepare and submit sales reports, and manage own lead generation and appointment setting.

Required profile

• Proven external sales experience, preferably in industrial equipment or valve/pump sectors.
• Strong ability to build and sustain relationships with technical and procurement stakeholders.
• Highly motivated, “sales hungry” professional with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work independently.
