External Sales Representative

About the role

The External Sales Representative will promote a range of welding and industrial equipment across Cape Town and surrounding regions. You will be the primary point of contact for customers, building relationships and driving sales growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and contact new customers, conduct cold calls and expand the client base.
• Visit existing customers, provide quotations, follow up on proposals and close sales.
• Prepare and analyse sales reports, maintain accurate records and ensure invoicing is completed.
• Manage back‑orders, coordinate stock deliveries and arrange product demonstrations.
• Plan weekly routes, schedule visits and ensure timely service delivery.
• Adhere to Renttech SA’s safety, health and environmental policies.
• Achieve monthly sales targets and gross profit goals as set by management.

Required profile

• Matric qualification; tertiary education is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the welding or industrial equipment sector.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence with own transport.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and proven ability to maintain long‑term relationships.
• Excellent problem‑solving, time‑management and route‑planning skills.
