External Sales Engineer - Pumps

About the role

Technical Placements is looking for a driven Technical Sales Engineer to join its team in the pump and fluid system industry. The role combines technical expertise with sales, helping customers, solving problems and driving sales.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert assistance for external and internal sales activities
• Address technical inquiries, issue accurate quotations and offer tailored solutions
• Read and interpret pump graphs, bills of materials and system designs
• Prepare competitive price lists and technical write-ups
• Upsell and generate leads for key market segments
• Support technical aspects of pump sales and system integration for clients
• Manage the process from inquiry through delivery and payment processing
• Identify new opportunities, collaborate with existing customers and grow key business units

Required profile

• ND/BTech/BEng in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
• 3-5 years in external sales, preferably with exposure to pump systems, motors or industrial components
• Prior experience in water, mining, food, automotive, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors is a plus
• Ability to engage with OEM resellers, distributors and agents in a sales environment
• Proactive, goal-driven, detail-oriented and collaborative
