Exports Controller – OFR (Durban)

About the role

The OFR Exports Controller will support DHL Global Forwarding’s air, ocean and road freight operations in Durban. You will act as a key liaison between customers, carriers and internal teams to ensure smooth export shipments and high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with existing customers, handling complaints and enquiries with urgency.
• Support the Operations Manager in implementing system changes and distributing information to staff.
• Coordinate carrier bookings, update shipment remarks, and arrange movement from pick‑up to delivery.
• Prepare, quality‑check and lodge export documentation, including customs entries.
• Close shipments in the CWI system, upload documents to the DHL EDM platform and provide uplift confirmations to customers.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in export logistics or a related field.
• Knowledge of OFR export products and customs regulations.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• High result orientation with attention to accuracy and timeliness.
• Matriculation (high school) qualification; CAT6 DG certificate is advantageous.
