About the role
The Life Brooklyn Day Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse with theatre experience to support spinal and orthopaedic procedures. Reporting to the Nursing Standards Manager, the nurse will ensure optimal patient care throughout the surgical pathway.
Key responsibilities
- Assist doctors during spinal and orthopaedic surgeries, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Manage theatre clocking time and accurate charging to support financial management.
- Control consignment stock, equipment and prostheses in line with hospital policy, including regular stock‑taking.
- Educate and supervise staff on correct use of theatre equipment and instrumentation.
- Provide pre‑operative information gathering and post‑operative patient visits to ensure quality care.
- Deliver theatre‑specific training, assess staff competence and manage labour hours.
Required profile
- Relevant degree or diploma in Nursing.
- Current registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body.
- Experience in orthopaedic or related surgical disciplines is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
