Executive Reward Senior Associate

About the role

PwC is looking for a dynamic Executive Reward Senior Associate to join its People and Organisation: Executive Reward & Share Schemes practice in Gauteng (Johannesburg or Cape Town). You will work within a high‑performing team delivering strategic, compliant and market‑leading executive reward solutions to a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review legal documentation for long‑term incentive and share plans, including plan rules and award documentation.
• Provide technical and regulatory advisory services, ensuring compliance with JSE Listings Requirements, the Companies Act and King IV governance standards.
• Develop clear employee communications for short‑ and long‑term incentive plans.
• Conduct benchmarking, gap analysis and deliver actionable recommendations to executive teams and remuneration committees.
• Support clients in enhancing remuneration reporting and disclosure aligned with leading governance practices.
• Monitor institutional investor trends and translate insights into remuneration design guidance.
• Research legal, tax and regulatory developments affecting executive reward structures and draft technical tax opinions.
• Collaborate with PwC global network firms on cross‑border incentive arrangements.

Required profile

• Strong background in executive reward consulting or related legal/HR advisory.
• In‑depth knowledge of South African regulatory frameworks (JSE Listings, Companies Act, King IV).
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
