Executive Head of E‑commerce & Production

About the role

Babylonstoren is a living ecosystem that blends agriculture, food, hospitality, design, retail and technology. We are seeking a commercially astute, entrepreneurial and hands‑on leader to drive the growth of our retail, e‑commerce and production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the integrated retail, e‑commerce and production ecosystem, overseeing people, systems and strategy.
• Manage P&L, budgeting, revenue, margins and long‑term profitability.
• Develop product range, identify growth opportunities and monitor inventory, costs and service levels.
• Build and motivate a strong management team of around 350 staff with clear accountability.
• Leverage data, technology and AI to improve efficiency and scale operations.
• Stay abreast of local and international trends and translate ideas into practical improvements.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification (Business Management, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Engineering or MBA).
• Senior commercial leadership experience with P&L responsibility in e‑commerce or an integrated environment.
• Proven ability to lead and develop large multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset and commercial acumen.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans and willing to travel internationally.
