Events Assistant

About the role

Join Hollywoodbets' Purple Team as an Events Assistant based in Umhlanga, Durban. You will support a dynamic brand that operates across Africa and the United Kingdom, helping to deliver a wide range of high‑profile events.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate events from conception to completion, including golf days, conferences, road shows, airport promotions, charity events, and F&B functions.
• Obtain quotes, manage budgets, book venues, prepare and dispatch invitations, and ensure all logistical details are covered.
• Collaborate with internal departments and the PR team to maximise brand exposure and produce post‑event reports.
• Ensure health, safety and gambling regulations are strictly adhered to during all activities.
• Maintain an annual events calendar, oversee casual staff, and guarantee smooth set‑up and breakdown of each event.
• Conduct market research to understand target audiences and drive attendance.

Required profile

• Exposure to events or a basic understanding of event management.
• 2 years experience in a marketing‑related role (advantageous).
• Excellent communication, multi‑tasking and time‑management abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and travel nationally.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
