Senior Marketing Clerk

About the role

The Senior Marketing Clerk supports the Marketing and Sales team by handling customer interactions, managing stock, and processing administrative tasks. This role ensures smooth communication with clients, council officers, and visitors while maintaining accurate records.

Key responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls, respond to enquiries and complaints from clients, prospective clients, the public and council officers.
• Greet visitors, determine their purpose and direct them to the appropriate department or venue.
• Control and sell stock, ensuring proper documentation for the Accounts and Administration Section.
• Purchase CSW clothing and accessories for marketing purposes and for the staff shop.
• Manage telephone information received from customers.
• Generate lists of major customers whose electricity supply may be pending disconnection.
• Maintain records of customer account transfers.
• Verify staff shop stock levels, investigate discrepancies and report variations to the Marketing and Sales Co‑ordinator.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of relevant experience with computer literacy.
• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
• Competencies such as influencing, problem solving, planning and organising, data processing and analysis, interpersonal relationships, service delivery orientation, client orientation and learning orientation.
