Event Marketing Manager

About the role

We are seeking a strategic and commercially‑minded Event Marketing Manager to lead our global event calendar and drive digital growth for a leading international IT services and support organisation. Based in Cape Town and working on UK hours, you will own the planning and execution of large‑scale corporate exhibitions, trade shows and hybrid events.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, own and execute an annual global event calendar aligned with sales and business objectives.
• Manage the full lifecycle of events – from venue selection and vendor negotiation to booth design and on‑site execution.
• Drive customer acquisition and optimise MQL‑to‑SQL conversion, attendee growth and overall event ROI.
• Run pre‑event digital campaigns across email, social media, paid ads and targeted content.
• Oversee day‑to‑day digital marketing activities, including website, LinkedIn and other social channels.
• Produce performance reports using marketing analytics to demonstrate ROI and pipeline contribution.
• Control event budgets, forecast spend and ensure alignment with commercial targets.
• Collaborate with multi‑regional stakeholders and mentor junior event staff.

Required profile

• 1‑5 years of marketing experience, preferably within IT or technology‑adjacent sectors.
• Proven track record of planning and executing corporate events such as trade shows, conferences and roadshows.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to measure KPIs, pipeline velocity and campaign ROI.
• Excellent stakeholder management, multitasking and contract negotiation skills.
• Willingness to work UK hours from Cape Town and travel globally (5‑10%).
