Estimator – Property & Construction

About the role

As an Estimator you will be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially sound cost estimates for construction projects. You will work closely with project and construction teams, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure projects are priced accurately and competitively.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Conduct quantity take‑offs and measurements.
• Calculate material, labour and subcontractor costs.
• Prepare and analyse Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Obtain, assess and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Assist with tender preparation and submissions.
• Identify potential cost discrepancies, risks and areas requiring clarification.

Required profile

• 2–5 years’ experience in construction estimating.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field (advantageous).
• Strong understanding of construction materials, processes and costs.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
• Highly organised with strong time‑management and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Quantity take‑offs and BOQ preparation.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with estimating or construction‑related software (advantageous).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
