ESG Analyst

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand is seeking an ESG Analyst to lead research and analysis of environmental, social and governance data. The role will support the development of ESG strategies, risk assessments and reporting across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an ESG data management framework and materiality matrix.
• Analyse ESG data, conduct peer benchmarking and identify material risks and opportunities.
• Monitor ESG performance indicators, prepare internal and external ESG reports and disclosures.
• Evaluate ESG ratings, perform due‑diligence on suppliers and support non‑financial assurance processes.
• Track regulatory developments and ensure compliance with ESG standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to shape ESG policies and communicate findings.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent senior certificate.
• Degree in Environmental Science, Social Science Management, Project Management or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in ESG, sustainability or related disciplines.
• Proven experience developing and implementing ESG metrics and data analytics.
• South African citizenship with a valid driver’s licence and clean MIE, criminal and credit records.
