About the role

A busy, well-established mixed-animal veterinary practice on the East Rand is looking for a dedicated veterinarian with a strong interest and proven skills in equine medicine. The role suits a hands-on professional who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment and wants to join a practice known for compassion, clinical professionalism and long-standing client relationships. The position is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, examine and diagnose patients' medical conditions
• Perform surgical procedures, wound care and treatments
• Carry out diagnostic laboratory work, imaging and ultrasound
• Prescribe and manage medical treatments
• Promote preventative health through vaccinations and wellness care
• Educate clients on pet care and lifestyle choices
• Perform humane euthanasia when necessary
• Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics, policies and legislation
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

Required profile

• BVSc degree and SAVC registration
• Qualified veterinarian with demonstrated equine medicine skills
• 1-3 years of experience
• Reliable, proactive team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to continuing education and professional growth
