EPWP General Worker – Various Departments (Fixed-Term 2 Years)

About the role

Midvaal Local Municipality is recruiting an EPWP General Worker for various departments in Meyerton, Gauteng, on a fixed-term contract of 2 years. The advertised daily rate is R164.33. Only residents of the Midvaal area are eligible to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Load and off-load materials and equipment of the section using protective equipment and safety tools.
• Place traffic warning signs to warn drivers of workers near municipal roads during excavation work.
• Clean the working area with manual labour equipment and tools to keep the environment tidy.
• Carry out labour-related work requested by the supervisor or superintendent of the section, and follow all lawful instructions from the supervisor.
• Perform other ad hoc tasks and duties as requested by management from time to time.

Required profile

• Grade 10; Grade 12 is an added advantage.
• 0 to 1 year of general worker experience within a local government authority.
• Valid driver's licence is an added advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and must be bilingual.
• Ability to follow and execute instructions, good physical health and basic manual work skills.
• Hard-working and self-disciplined; applicants living in the Midvaal area get preference.
