Enterprise Architect

About the role

Old Mutual is seeking an Enterprise Architect to lead the development and execution of enterprise architecture strategies that align with business objectives. The role involves shaping architecture roadmaps, guiding technology adoption, and ensuring governance and compliance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and align IT strategies and programmes with business goals, defining strategic runway themes and architecture roadmaps.
• Maintain enterprise architecture views, artifacts, and repositories, managing architecture processes for various archetypes.
• Build and nurture the architecture practice, embedding architects, engineers, methods, tools, and repositories.
• Research emerging technology trends, assess feasibility, conduct proof‑of‑concepts, and support product and technology selection.
• Identify and mitigate architecture‑related risks, ensure compliance with policies, standards and regulations, and participate in architecture reviews.
• Maintain decision registers and governance documentation for architecture decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in enterprise architecture strategy, planning and design management.
• Strong ability to develop architecture roadmaps and align them with business planning and investment.
• Experience in managing architecture risk, compliance and governance processes.
• Capability to lead architecture capability building and knowledge sharing across the organisation.
