Enrolled Ward Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Enrolled Ward Nurse to join our clinical team. The role involves delivering safe, patient‑centred care on a busy ward while supporting doctors and registered nurses with a range of procedures and treatments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient‑centred nursing care in accordance with SANC and hospital standards.
• Administer medication and monitor patient progress.
• Support doctors and registered nurses with procedures and treatments.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Uphold infection control and patient safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Assist with stock control and safe handling of equipment and medication.
• Participate in ward handovers and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Enrolled Nursing qualification.
• Current SANC registration.
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a clinical ward environment.
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and flexible shift patterns.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Computer literacy.
