About the role
The Enrolled Nurse will provide safe, cost‑effective, high‑quality patient care in a medical unit, following hospital standards and policies. You will be responsible for both direct and indirect nursing care, ensuring each patient’s needs are assessed, planned for, and met.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Contribute to holistic patient care and promote health and wellbeing.
- Ensure a therapeutic, clean, and safe environment free from medical‑legal hazards.
- Attend shift handovers and participate in unit quality‑improvement programmes.
- Communicate effectively with patients about their care.
- Escalate patient or doctor complaints to the unit Sister in charge.
- Complete all assigned departmental duties within required timeframes.
Required profile
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Compliance with the SANC code for Enrolled Nurses and relevant health‑care legislation.
- Computer literacy.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and shifts.
- Previous experience in a medical unit.
