Enrolled Nurse (High Care)

About the role

The Royal Hospital and Heart Centre, advertised through Lenmed, is looking for an Enrolled Nurse for its High Care department. The nurse provides safe, cost-effective patient care in line with hospital standards and policies, and delivers direct and/or indirect nursing care to one patient or a group of patients, assessing, planning, executing and supervising care.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patients' care
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients
• Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe environment free from medico-legal hazards
• Promote patients' health and wellbeing
• Attend handover of reports at the start of each shift
• Take part in the ward/unit's quality improvement programme
• Communicate effectively with patients about their care
• Refer all patient complaints to the Sister-in-Charge of the unit
• Complete all departmental duties and delegated tasks assigned by supervisors

Required profile

• Registered with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse
• Compliance with the SANC code for Enrolled Nurses and all applicable healthcare legislation
• Flexible in working hours and shifts
