Enrolled Nurse – General Ward

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse will provide direct and indirect nursing care on the General Ward of Netcare Blaauwberg Hospital, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality patient care while maintaining accurate documentation and a therapeutic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain timely and accurate patient documentation and ensure proper stock charging.
• Uphold a clean, safe, and hazard‑free ward in line with waste‑management and occupational safety regulations.
• Report potential risks, equipment issues, and ensure correct use, cleaning, and storage of medical equipment.
• Deliver patient care according to the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice, including infection prevention and effective communication with patients and families.
• Participate in handover meetings, quality‑improvement programmes, and supervise Enrolled Nursing Assistants as required.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Compliance with the SANC code and relevant South African health‑care legislation.
• Relevant experience in a nursing discipline, preferably in a hospital setting.

Required skills

• Current CPR certification.
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council and ability to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
