Enrolled Nurse – Auxiliary Ward I (Medical/Oncology)

About the role

The Life Flora Hospital is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to work on Auxiliary Ward I, focusing on medical and oncology patients. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the nurse will deliver high‑quality care while supporting the hospital’s strategic objectives and compliance with health legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in quality management programs, complete monthly evaluator cards, and attend ward meetings.
• Apply infection‑control standards, PPE protocols, and patient‑fall safety measures.
• Maintain accurate stock records, report patient discharges or transfers, and update the Impilo system promptly.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and documentation of medical equipment.
• Provide patient hygiene, comfort, and safety in line with nursing care plans.
• Assist with surgical and diagnostic procedures, including wound care and fluid intake monitoring.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers and support orientation of new staff.

Required profile

• Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Experience caring for oncology patients.
• Understanding of the private healthcare environment is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel as needed.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency for clinical documentation and system updates.
