Engineering Manager: Spares, Services & Reliability

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead spares, services and reliability activities for a well‑established engineering and industrial equipment organisation in South Africa. The role provides technical authority for aftermarket products, supports field service teams and drives reliability improvements across vibrating screens, feeders, exciters and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as technical authority for aftermarket products and services.
• Provide engineering support for vibrating screens, feeders, exciters and associated equipment.
• Review and approve technical quotations, repair scopes, manufacturing drawings and specifications.
• Lead equipment failure investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action development.
• Oversee equipment refurbishment, repair projects and dimensional compliance inspections.
• Develop and maintain field service methodologies, technical standards and commissioning procedures.
• Support sales and commercial teams with technical evaluations, life‑cycle costing and upgrade recommendations.
• Mentor engineering staff and contribute to training initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in a mechanical engineering environment, preferably within mining, heavy engineering or industrial equipment.
• Proven track record of leading technical teams and managing aftermarket services.
