Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering function within our mining operations, ensuring safety, sustainability and alignment with Sibanye Stillwater values. The role involves strategic planning, maintenance oversight and continuous improvement to support production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership in safety, sustainable development and corporate values.
• Develop and implement strategic plans, maintenance strategies and risk management frameworks.
• Oversee engineering services, infrastructure (roads, power, water) and equipment availability.
• Drive continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across the organisation and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with ESG, legal, environmental, occupational health and safety standards, including WGC Responsible Gold Mining Principles and eTfS initiatives.
• Manage SHE standards, promote a culture of SHE leadership and approve departmental QMS documents.
• Lead people management activities such as recruitment, labour planning and performance management.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Government Certificate of Competency – Mine & Works.
• Minimum 3 years experience as an appointed 2.13.1 Engineer in a mining environment.
• Knowledge of planned maintenance, cost of ownership models, commercial law, Minerals Act and BCEA.
• Medically fit for the specific business area, clear security screening record and a valid driver’s licence where applicable.
