Employee Relations Consultant (Cape Town / Johannesburg)

Join a purpose‑driven organisation where people, integrity and excellence matter. As an Employee Relations Consultant you will safeguard Capitec’s legal, operational and reputational integrity by leading complex employee relations matters and advising senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced employee relations advice, investigations, documentation and case resolution aligned to policy and legislation.
• Represent the organisation in high‑complexity disputes, including CCMA conciliations and Labour Court arbitrations.
• Develop and deliver ER training, workshops and coaching to build capability across the business.
• Analyse trends, identify risks and recommend policy and procedural improvements.
• Track and report key ER metrics such as case volumes, turnaround times and outcomes.
• Manage low and high‑risk ER matters, mitigating legal, financial and reputational exposure.
• Conduct research on labour law and industry trends to inform policy updates.
• Ensure accurate ER administration, reporting and follow‑through on all cases.

Required profile

• 5–8 years specialist experience in labour/employee relations, including CCMA, Labour Court and disciplinary processes.
• Proven ability to independently handle complex CCMA conciliations and arbitrations.
• Strong knowledge of employment equity, employment legislation and best practice ER governance.
• Demonstrated experience in policy development, risk analysis and stakeholder management.
