Employee Benefits Consultant

About the role

Marsh is looking for an experienced Employee Benefits Consultant to join its team in Cape Town. The role suits someone with a proven background in retirement fund consulting or retirement administration who wants to join an established team within a leading insurance broker. It is a full-time position with a hybrid model of at least three compulsory days on site (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Client Executive in consulting to a portfolio of clients and ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are on file and followed.
• Help develop an annual year plan for each client and ensure deliverables are met.
• Prepare agendas for management committee meetings, attend them and draft accurate minutes for review and distribution.
• Ensure matters arising from meetings are acted on promptly.
• Assist with requesting quotations and drafting reports, and respond to queries in a timely way.
• Present at member induction sessions, keep attendance registers and meet regularly with administrators and service providers.
• Negotiate with insurers and service providers where required and advise clients with excellent service and project management.
• Help build relationships with key decision makers and keep client contact details accurate.
• Update internal systems and take part in team meetings discussing workflow and problems.

Required profile

• Experience in a retirement fund consulting or administration role.
• Passed RE 05 (Representatives Exam) and FAIS compliant.
• Business-level English; Afrikaans is an advantage.
• Valid driver's licence and own transport.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel) or equivalent.
• Clear oral and written communication.
• Numerical skills, organisation and negotiation skills are a plus.
