Employee Benefits Consultant

About the role

Marsh is looking for an experienced Employee Benefits Consultant to join its team in Cape Town. The role suits someone with a proven background in retirement fund consulting or retirement administration who wants to join an established team within a leading insurance broker. It is a full-time position with a hybrid model of at least three compulsory days on site (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Client Executive in consulting to a portfolio of clients and prepare agendas for management committee meetings.
• Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are on file for all clients and that services are delivered in line with them.
• Help develop an annual year plan for each client and make sure deliverables are met.
• Attend management committee and ad hoc meetings, draft accurate minutes and ensure action items are followed up.
• Request quotations, draft reports and respond promptly to queries.
• Present at member induction sessions, keep attendance registers and meet regularly with administrators and service providers.
• Negotiate with insurers and service providers where needed and advise clients while building strong relationships with key decision makers.
• Maintain accurate client contact details and update internal systems.

Required profile

• Experience in a retirement fund consulting or administration role.
• Passed RE 05 (Representatives Exam) and FAIS compliant.
• Business-level English; Afrikaans is an advantage.
• Valid driver's licence and own transport.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word and Excel) or equivalent.
• Clear oral and written communication.
• Numerical skills, organisation and negotiation abilities are a plus.
