Electronic Pre-Press Operator – Printing & Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Pre‑Press Operator to join a leading printing and manufacturing organisation in Johannesburg. The role focuses on managing digital workflow, preparing artwork for print, and producing high‑quality printing plates in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the digital workflow process for client artwork.
• Perform artwork checks and prepare files for print production.
• Communicate with clients and internal production teams.
• Produce and deliver accurate printing plates to the Press Department on schedule.
• Troubleshoot and fault‑find pre‑press equipment.
• Carry out routine maintenance on all pre‑press machinery.
• Plan efficient workflow within the Pre‑Press Department.
• Maintain production records, documentation, and quality‑assurance standards.
• Uphold health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
• Work shifts, public holidays and overtime as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Relevant trade certificate.
• Minimum 5 years experience in an electronic pre‑press environment.
• Experience with imposition software.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and overtime.
